Practical

Project 2B: Poster Design

We were tasked with creating a poster that integrates typography and photography elements to represent a chosen quote of the day. Mr. Fauzi instructed us to research online references to showcase our vision for the poster. Additionally, we are required to develop a design concept to clearly articulate and support our idea. I chose the quote "The Worst Mistake is To Not Make Any".

Design Concept

The quote "The Worst Mistake is To Not Make Any" is all about embracing mistakes as part of the journey in both design and life. In design, it encourages taking risks and trying things that might not work, because those "wrong" steps often lead to creative breakthroughs. In life, it reminds us that mistakes are crucial for personal growth and learning, and we should not afraid of trying new things. The typographic design will use rough, imperfect fonts and even misspelled words to represent the "mistakes", while the photographic design will involve overlapping photo collages of people having fun and striking different poses show the chaos and freedom that comes with embracing imperfection.

I chose this quote because it reminds people that mistakes are key to growth and self-expression. We should accept diversity and understand that everyone has their own unique way of showing who they are, creating a community where people can freely be themselves.

Reflection

Referencing well-crafted designs has been a great way to explore different styles and learn from the work of skilled graphic designers. By studying these examples, I’ve gained insights into effective techniques and creative solutions that I can apply to my own projects. Referencing also boosts designer's productivity, as it helps streamline the design process by providing inspiration and guiding decisions, making it easier to approach challenges with a clearer vision.
