REFLECTION

Throughout this module, I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable with Adobe Illustrator, both my technical skills and confidence in using the software has improved. Exploring its tools has been a creative and hands-on experience that pushed me to try new things. Beyond that, I’ve delved into the fundamentals of character design, like how different shapes can express different personalities. By reading Framed Ink by Marcos Mateu-Mestre, I explored how lighting can completely change the emotional tone of a scene and add more depth to the narrative. I’ve also learned about expressive typography and comic transition techniques, which will definitely be useful for future projects.

Bringing all these skills together, I feel like I’m starting to develop my own style. Being special is crucial for every designer especially when AI comes into the play, able to create something others can't not only set me apart in a competitive field but also builds my creative identity and value. I hope to design impactful work that is unlike anything that has existed before, a new style, something that resonates with people on a deeper level.
