REFLECTION

Through this module, I had the opportunity to conduct research, allowing me to develop a deeper understanding of design principles while also analysing different interpretations of meaning behind various designs.

What I enjoyed the most was being able to express my thoughts through analysis and in my final design. Design Principles gave me a space to articulate my thoughts visually and refine them through professional feedback from the lecturer and tutor. I also found the feedback recordings valuable, they allowed me to learn from others' thought processes and critiques.

What frustrated me the most was trying to navigate the module brief instructions. At times, they felt vague, and without physical classes, it was a bit challenging to communicate with classmates or lecturers.

One of the biggest things I discovered through this module is my passion for creating conceptual designs, which is something I hadn’t explored before. The feedback I received helped me gain confidence in doing this, and I learned from my mistakes by correcting them along the way.

Through all the research, I’ve come to know more about the importance of design principles, not as rigid rules but as essential guidelines that assist in enhancing visual appeal and clarity. Moving forward, I’ll be more mindful of these elements in my work. What hasn’t changed, however, is my curiosity and passion in seeking answers and responses through design.

My aspiration is to become a smart, honest, responsible, and inspiring designer. I hope to create designs that offer fresh perspectives and, in some way, contribute to making the world a better place. I'll continue seeking answers and pushing my creative boundaries with what I've learnt during this module.
